As previously stated in our documentation, there is a limit to the number of 4424 terminals that can be supported on an IP Office Digital Station 30 (DS30) Expansion Module due to the power requirements of these terminals.
Until recently, an 80 Watt power supply unit was available as a special order item for customers wishing to use more than 10 of these terminals on a DS30 module. Unfortunately, this power supply unit has been discontinued and is no longer available.
As a result of this, the maximum number of 4424 terminals supported by IP Office DS modules is now as follows:
Up to 10 x 4424 terminals are supported on a DS module when using the standard power supply unit provided with each module. The remaining ports may also have other supported 4400 series terminals connected and in use.
Customers seeking to connect more than 10 x 4424 terminals should employ multiple DS modules, while bearing in mind the constraint above.
It should be noted that no such limits apply to 5400 series terminals (including the 5420 terminal); up to 30 x 5420 terminals are supported per DS30 module, up to 16 x 5420 terminals are supported per DS16 module.
