The purpose of this Tech Tip is to explain what settings can be adjusted when the default busy tone detection settings are not compatible with the analog line. This can result in the lines not clearing down correctly.
The IP Office supports two methods of releasing analog lines, Line Break and Tone Disconnect. It is not normally necessary to change these settings as the system locale configures the system with a default setting in accordance with the Product Approvals.
The system default Busy Tone Detection settings are displayed in the System Tab.
Busy Tone Detection Modes
System Frequency: This is the default setting assigned to the System Locale.
Single Frequency: The IP Office will expect the line provider to generate a single frequency disconnect tone (e.g. 420Hz). Selecting this option will override the default settings and allow the Single Frequency and On/Off Width parameters to be changed. The On/Off Width parameters are the disconnect tone cadence values. All these values must match what is specified by the line provider.
Dual Frequency: The IP Office will expect the line provider to generate a dual (combined) frequency disconnect tone (e.g. 480Hz + 620Hz). Selecting this option will override the default settings and allow the Dual Frequency and On/Off Width parameters to be changed. The On/Off Width parameters are the disconnect tone cadence values. All these values must match what is specified by the line provider.
